The second DataPro Hybrid Conference will take place on 25 June 2026 in Ubrique. The event is part of the international conference series within the DataPro project. It will offer a full day of hands-on workshops and open discussions, bringing together educators and experts who are passionate about helping young people navigate the digital world safely and confidently. The conference will provide an open space to learn, share experiences, and explore how data protection and digital education can be put into practice.
The third DataPro Hybrid Conference will take place on 1 July 2026, from 10:00 to 15:00, in Berlin in a hybrid format (English/German). The event will be hosted at the Landesvertretung Baden-Württemberg.
The conference represents an important milestone in the series of international events within the DataPro project. It will bring together partners, educators, and experts to discuss key topics related to data protection and digital awareness.
Emerging technologies shape our communal lives, yet education on their functionalities and safe use remains individual responsibility. The interactive web game fills this gap with a smart home simulation, in which players need to find smart devices, and solve integrated mini games. In a playful way, students in their teens (and their teachers) learn about privacy, data protection and the GDPR in the IoT. The Pokémon-style environment engages its players through a privacy- and a comfort-score, that leads to different end results.
Where are the boundaries between private, personal and public on social media? Questions which are answered by adults intuitively, may not be that easy to dissect for young users new to the digital world. In ‘Nothing to hide’, students between 10 and 12 years of age enter a simulated social media chat with their classmate and learn about the meaning of data protection for themselves and their peers.
DataPro Hybrid Concept Workshop - České Budějovice, Czech Republic
The DataPro Hybrid Concept Workshop was held in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, on September 27, 2024, bringing together both on-site and online participants. The workshop explored data protection, digital sovereignty, critical thinking, and AI-based learning in education. Presentations included the DataPro curriculum and results from an international student survey. Journalistic approaches to countering disinformation in classrooms were discussed. Educational policy initiatives promoting data privacy awareness were highlighted.
